This proposed family home will be constructed using the European Ziegel Block – solid honey-combed clay blocks giving a code compliant unlined thermal rating without having to resort to strap & lining. Once solid plastered using Sto mineral based breathable coloured plaster this beautiful home will only get better as it ages. 

From 2.8 to 4.0 stud the room spaces are both dynamic and true to the architectural elements of the Mediterranean style – great passive ventilatrion and thermal mass heat retention as well as very quiet with all wall external and internal being the same material

Lakeside, Cambridge

Modern masonry & glass opening up to expansive views to Lake Karapiro. Facing due-north, with a fully enclosed internal courtyard allows all year round indoor/outdoor living.

Slightly flared surfeits give the house continued height and presence...our clients' brief was simple - steel, glass and monopitch in tilt slab.

Our clients’ brief was to create a classic Mediterranean home situated on a 20 acre horse training facility. The house enjoys 180 degree views across rolling Matamata countryside framed by the Kaimai Ranges. Twin chimneys in the style of bell towers punctuate the long angled footprint of this home.

We are very excited to have been commissioned to help create our clients’ long-time dream of a Georgian Manor House, Georgian Stables incorporating a high end retail outlet for garden and culinary consumables as well as a classic Norman/Gothic Chapel. All of this is to be nestled in a classic English garden on a 25 acre estate situated between Hamilton and Cambridge, Waikato. Construction is scheduled for mid 2010. Our client’s brief was to design an elegant Classic farm Homestead. This spatial country home with emphasis on traditional weatherboard detailing.

Cambridge

Set in heartland show jumping and thoroughbred country of Cambridge, our clients' brief was for a curved roof contemporary home. It sits well in the old lunge arena area with already established trees and lawn areas. Atypical to all around it, this home is a true representation of its owner - funky, sophisticated, creative and very social. Full height curved ceilings and glazed walls maxamise light, sun and ventilation. Expansive north facing interface ensures year round use of home and patio.

Taupo

This gull-winged holiday home on the South shores of Lake Taupo takes full advantage of views South and sun East, North and West. Minimum 2.8 stud throughout with full sloping ceilings parallel to the roof line. Complimentary cedar, copper and Otago Schist complete this stunning alpine lake setting.

Kuratau

Situated by the southern shores of Lake Taupo on an Olive Grove and Vineyard, this stunning house was awarded 1st place in the New Residential section of the 2005 ADNZ design awards.

Cambridge

Client brief was to create a Classic Georgian Manor. Balance, symmetry and repetition of windows denote this. On a lifestyle block with fabulous lake views, the Manor is constructed in solid masonry and plaster finish.

Raglan

Client brief was for a solid masonry block home with mid-span concrete floor. Rendition of three metre stud at ground floor level with sloping ceilings to upper floor. Full double glazing with good thermal mass and cut back upper floor with overwidth stairwell for ventilation both cool and warm.

Matamata

This solid hebel masonry home is expansive and configured by one room deep plus south facing hallways. Stud at 2.8 metres and outdoor loggia and fireplace allow seemless outdoor/indoor living with 2.4 stud height joinery height allowing high sun and light levels. Hipped, flared gable rooflines create permanence and elegance when matched to the 35 degree pitched roof creating proportion and scale.

Auckland

Client brief for an expansive family home set on a North facing coastal lifestyle block, this rendition of a traditional solid plastered masonry veneer home overlooks stunning sea views near a long established rural sea village. Three metre stud generally, with 3.8 vaulted entry and lounge areas create great volume of living space with turret rooms and chimneys completing the height and symmetry of the South facing entrance. Construction 2010.

Waihi

Client brief was for a stunning coastal home with 180 degree views over the upper coast and islands. Glass bridge and glass lift complete a minimalist clean lined contemporary home. 3-d model and rendition.

Returuke Valley Hunting Lodge

This mud block home sits in the centre of a 4000 acre bush and farm block set up as a country hunting and farming estate. With the mud blocks hand made this unique home sits perfectly at ease in a huge landscape of bush, stream and hillside. The 18 month build time is reflected in the luxurious interior set on a backdrop of golden honey coloured mud block. Warm and cool when needed a truly timeless classsic that only improves with age.
